BTCCSquare news:

Franklin Templeton has reengineered two institutional money market funds—managed by affiliate Western Asset Management—to operate within tokenized finance and regulated stablecoin frameworks. The MOVE avoids creating new crypto products, instead retrofitting existing Rule 2a-7 government money market funds for blockchain compatibility.

The Western Asset Institutional Treasury Reserves Fund now supports on-chain transactions with faster settlement and 24/7 accessibility. Institutional investors gain familiar cash-management tools repurposed for on-chain liquidity and stablecoin reserve management, maintaining full regulatory compliance.

This strategic pivot reflects growing demand for digitally delivered treasury solutions without abandoning traditional fund structures. The update positions Franklin Templeton to bridge legacy finance with blockchain efficiency.
